New Maps, Old Magic: The Evolution of the Hearth
Traveler,
If you have been here since the beginning, you know this space as The CEO Showgirl. You know the blend of glitter, strategy, and psychology that defined our time under the spotlight.
But as any great storyteller knows, the second act often takes us into deeper, more mysterious territories.
The curtain isn’t falling on the Showgirl; she is simply stepping off the stage and into the wilder lands of the multiverse. Hearthlight is the new home for the stories I am building—a place where my background in psychology meets the high-stakes architecture of epic fantasy.
Looking for the Archives?
For those who loved the deep-dives into performance and business psychology, don’t worry. My past 48 posts remain live and accessible in the archives. The lessons of the “Showgirl” are the foundation upon which these new worlds are built. You’ll still find that same spirit in everything I write—we’re just applying those psychological blueprints to dragons, star-charts, and the hearths of new worlds.
Your Guide to the Realms
As we move forward, Hearthlight will be the central hub for the unfolding histories of these worlds. Here is what is currently on the architect’s desk:
1. The Hearthlight Cycle 🕯️
The flagship journey. A high-fantasy epic centered on the fundamental pillars of food, community, survival, and rebirth. It is a story about how we nourish one another in a changing world and how life finds a way to begin again when the old ways fade. This is the heartbeat of our lore.
2. DRAKKENVALT 🐉
Iron, shadow, and the end of eternity. Time was never meant to end for Dragonkin. A centuries-long war ravaged not just the lands of Thal’Pyrae, but it demonstrated one demoralizing truth: Time did have an end for Dragonkin—but only at the hands of their brethren. This is an exploration of power, betrayal, and the cost of immortality.
3. UnVeiled 👁️
The unsettled fog. Before the cataclysms pushed the Veil away from the lands of Aestraea, the creatures of the Veil lived peacefully, happily. But as the light encroaches and the fog recedes, the denizens of the Veil grow increasingly unsettled. This series explores the tension between the seen and the unseen, and the cost of “clearing the path.”
From the Hearth: Provisions & Poetry
To truly understand a world, you must taste its bread and hear its songs. These works serve as the bridge between our world and the realms of the Cycle:
Tavern at Map’s Edge: A Sanctuary in Verse [Currently Available | View on Amazon] This collection is a sanctuary for the weary traveler, capturing the soul of the Cycle through the quiet moments by the fire and the resilient spirit of those who remain. It is the lyrical foundation for everything to come.
The Hearthlight Cookbook & Barbook [In Development] If the Hearthlight Cycle is about community and survival, then the kitchen and the tavern are its most sacred spaces. These volumes provide the literal flavors of the journey, featuring the provisions and spirits that sustain travelers through the long winters.
What to Expect Next
The hearth is open to everyone. As a subscriber, you can explore the various sections of this publication to find:

Whether you came for the sparkle or stayed for the swords, I am honored to have you at my table. The fire is high, and the maps are finally unrolled.
Until the Fires unite us again,
Dr. Chrissy Mackey Architect of the Hearth
