Autumn has always been a performer in her own right.

She steps onto the stage in sequins of amber and gold, takes a long, dramatic bow, and then begins to peel it all away.

There’s something sacred about that.

The way she doesn’t flinch when the light fades, or when the trees stand bare. She knows that loss isn’t failure, it’s choreography. Every falling leaf is part of the routine.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what I’m stripping.

Old expectations.

Old obligations.

Versions of myself that once looked like survival but now just feel like costume changes that don’t fit anymore.

It’s funny how even our own growth can grieve us. There’s a quiet ache in saying goodbye to a self that got you this far, the one who smiled when she wanted to scream, who sparkled through exhaustion, who believed that control meant safety.

But underneath it all, there’s something new taking shape. A softer kind of strength. A stillness that doesn’t need to prove itself.

So this month, I’m honoring the art of letting go; of stepping out of roles that no longer fit, and trusting that the next act will call for something truer. And the first one? I’m letting go of my production company. For now, at any rate.

After all, even glitter has to fall before it catches the light again.

Your Turn:

What are you shedding this season? A habit, a mask, a “should” that’s overstayed its welcome? Tell me in the comments; the stage is open.
